Online Conference

The online conference takes place at the PCE2022 Online Conference Platform hosted by Oxford Abstracts.

The PCE2022 online conference is available to delegates with both online and in person registration.

The main feature of the PCE2022 Online Conference Platform is the Online Conference Program

Here you have access to a timetable of all sessions with abstracts and extra material. Video streamed and video recorded main sessions are available in the online conference program. There are many interactive features in the online conference program that makes the online life at the PCE2022 an exciting and rich experience!

The PCE2022 Online Conference Platform is the online venue for online delegates.

Its also the meeting place for both in person and online delegates making PCE2022 a Semi-Hybrid Conference. By a Semi-Hybrid Conference we mean that PCE2022 primarily is an in person conference where main sessions is stream to the online conference platform with recording being available after. There are no live video session between the two parts of the conference. Therefore no hybrid Experiential Workshops. But there are other great ways to interact via the online conference platform like social networking feature with chat and zoom-like video chat, direct chat comments to presenters below their abstract in the online conference program and  you can form interest groups for meetings and continued interactions with other delegates both from the online and the in person conference. You can also submit abstracts for the online conference.

The online program is planed to open before the PCE2022 in person conference and it will go on after the in person conference. You will have a chance to familiarize your self with the online environment at PCE2022 before we hit July 4. And you can enjoy the recorded talks and keep the dialogue going after the conference if you wish. When you know it, the PCE2022 Online Conference Platform offers many easy to understand possibilities for encounters and inspiration.

Opening

MONDAY 4 JULY 2022 - 15:00-18:00
STREAMED from COPENHAGEN

The official opening of PCE022 takes place at main venue in the afternoon.

We will be blessed with the representative from the PCE2021 conference in New Zealand who will offer a ceremonial transition from PCE2021 to PCE2022 which was set in motion in Auckland at the closing of PCE2021.

The hosts of PCE2022 from World Association for Person-Centered and Experiential psychotherapy and Counseling and the Danish Association for Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapy will warmly bid you welcome. Invited special guests will honour us with their presence and help us open the conference.

Two world renowned scholars Robert Elliott, Ph.D and Dan Zahavi, Ph.D will give opening lectures, that will be a stimulating and deepening start of the conference. Look forward to this! During the opening you will experience art performance that will talk to heart and body also.

Keynote talks

Each morning of the conference (expect Monday) we have invited a keynote speaker who each will give their perspective on the conference theme: HOW CAN I BE OF HELP? There are speakers from 3 of the main tribes of the person-centered and experiential nations: Susan Stephen (person-centered), Akira Ikemi (focusing) & Leslie Greenberg (Emotion-Focused Therapy). On top of that we have invited Dagmar Nuding to give us her perspective on psychotherapy with children and young persons. You can look forward to a strong team of dedicated speakers who each have taken a new look at HOW CAN I BE OF HELP? that they will share with us.

Semi-plenary talks

THUESDAY 5 JULY - THURSDAG 7 JULY 2022 - 10.30-11.30

We present 2 parallel semi plenary sessions each morning after the keynote (except Friday).

The topics was found through a delphi panel using the scientific committee as the expert panel. Through answering the question: What are or will be the most important themes/topics that represent the emerging growth edges of the PCE approach in the next 10 years? we found 5 overarching themes and 5 PCE scholars to address them. ¤ themes are to be found in this section the last is addressed in the opening talk by Robert Elliott. The 2 remaining semi plenary talks is by Danish speakers that addresses the conference theme with a Danish and Greenlandic touch with the Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard, and a perspective from the indigenous people of the Kingdom of Denmark - the Greenlanders.

Parallel Sessions

TUESDAY 5 JULY - THURSDAY 7 JULY 2022 - 10:30 - 11:30

Each of the 3 middle days the afternoon is dedicated to all the sublime presenters who have submitted abstracts to present. There is a broad variety of formats for presentation:  Individual papers, panels & discussion groups. The presentations are the heart and blood of the conference where scholars, researchers, partitioners, trainers, students, etc. share they researchers, theoretical developments, practice innovations, ethical dilemmas, philosophical thoughts and personal perspective. Inspired by the conference theme presenters will offer their take on: HOW CAN I BE OF HELP? A seemingly simple question with a lot of implications and fundamental issues build into it. You will experience the full range of the PCE nations in the parallel session presentations: Person-centered, focusing, EFT, pre-therapy, motivational interviewing, person centered arts therapy, experiential therapy, person-centered existentialtherapy,  etc. You will hear about individual, couples, group therapy to name a few. Approaches to different age groups, gender, types of problems, ethnicity etc. There is good time for discussion and dialogue in each session. There will be up to 8 parallel sessions. Only some IN PERSON sessions are streamed and recorded. No experiential workshops is accessible online.

Online poster gallery

ALL THE TIME + WEDNESDAY 6 JULY 16.30-18..00

The poster gallery is located at in the online conference program from Oxford Abstracts. Here you will find poster from both in person and the online submission. You will find pre-recorded videos of poster presentation, be able to down load extra material and chat online with the author of the posters. You can access the poster gallery at all times before, during and after the conference. But take time to meet during the poster session in person Wednesday from 16.30-18.00 and chat live with the authors

Online Sessions

ALL THE TIME + THURSDAY 7 JULY 16.30-18.00

The online sessions are presentations that are available online only. When you access an online presentation you will have the abstract, author bio and a pre-recorded presentation you can see anytime you like. There is also an online chat below the abstract, where you can engage in conversation with the author or other attendees. You can also invite other attendees to connect via the social networking. Perhaps you form a group to explore a topic or continue the conversation in a private chat or in a video meeting, right in the conference platform. It's really easy. In online sessions the author can also offer other material like the power point and papers for download. And rember you have access to this also after the conference for up to 1 year.

Online Encounter Group

MONDAY 4 JULY -- THURSDAY 7 JULY - 22.00-24.00

Each day after the in person program has finished there is an online encounter group space on Zoom accessed from the online conference program. Encounter groups are an open unstructured group format that comes with an invitation to meet with others across differences and explore freely what will unfold during our time together. The encounter group is not a therapy group, but an open space for meeting, exchange and growth. Our hosts Arina, Artemis and George drawing from their experience with online encounters, will welcome everyone in this unique person-centered meeting and facilitate a space of inclusion and open expression. We believe Carl Rogers would have tried this had he lived today.

Online Social Gatherings

MONDAY 4 JULY 2022 18.00-21.00 + THURSDAY 7 JULY 18.00-21.00

A social gathering online via Zoom that you access in the online conference program. It's a time to meet new and old friends among the online attendees. The in person attendees in Copenhagen can also attend these social gatherings.

ALL THE TIME

The online conference program has a cool social networking feature, that allows all attendees from both the online and in person conferences to connect via chat and video. When registering in the PCE2022 online program, you create an online conference badge that allows you to engage with all other attendees with a badge. You can easily find and connect with old friends and colleagues. Invite them to chat or a video conversation. You can create group and meet more persons during the conference. This is a great feature to keep the dialogue going after exciting lectures or diving into a topic with colleagues. On you badge you can have links to your email, facebook, LinkedIn & Twitter. You have control over your settings and can stay low if you choose. It's really easy and intuitive to use.

The World Association for Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapy and Counseling (WAPCEPC) holds General Assembly for members of WAPCEPC.

Closing Session

The conference closes with a panel summing up the discussions and learnings through conference. It will be a look at HOW CAN I BE OF HELP? with the experience of the previous conference days in mind. On the panel is

The floor is open for a debate and exchange with the community of the conference.

The conference draws toward its end with a thank you to all involved and a last summing up. We will start looking towards the next conference PCE2024. The conference ends in ceremonial way with a moving art performance and a farewell from the conference hosts.

In the attendee section you find all the attendees listed with their conference badge.

Attendees communicate with each other through their attendee profile badge via:

  • zoom-like video link

Attendee can also offer their email, Facecbook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram connections

In the left side of the program you find he chat options:

  • Event: You can send message that goes to all attendees
  • Direct: You can chat with another attendee
  • Groups: You can create a group or join one for meetings and discussions

Both in person and online delegates can use the social networking feature in the online platform.

We strong invite all delegates across conference formats to use this feature to link the conference together. The organizers will help you. Han there will be a warm up for the social networking before the conference.
